This restaurant is the site of Mario, one of our favorite restaurants.  It has been beautifully redesigned and updated.  Many of the waitstaff remain: mature,  welcoming and professional waiters who deliver excellent service.  The food is delicious and many favorites remain on the menu- we enjoyed veal chop parmigiana, pasta with crabmeat and Caesar salad.   Highly recommend.

EXCELLENT food, service and atmosphere, highly recommend. Previously Mario's, now Mezza Luna Italian Restaurant, is great for romantic dinners, business meetings or a group event.  The bar looked really nice as well. Our servers were very attentive and kept filling our water and bread and asking if we needed anything.  We had the following and everything was DELICIOUS and freshly made! - Burrata appetizer special - Four cheese Ravoli with mushrooms special - Stracciatella soup - Rigatoni Bolognese - Tiramisu - Italian cheesecake  Special thanks to William, Ken and the woman whose name I didn't get, you all made our anniversary dinner a great experience! I went here for a office holiday dinner, this place was so nicely decorated and all the staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and drinks, I couldn't believe the seafood tower, it was so beautifully put together! All of their specials sounded delicious and delicately choosen. All of their desserts are incredible! I would definitely return!

Mario was my favorite restaurant and it’s closing shocked and dismayed us… No worries Mezza Luna is a refresh or a greatest hits album of Mario….During the meal I played the game of trying to empty my water, to no avail the waiters kept that glass full! A refreshed classic…

Obviously there's plenty of Italian food on long Island, but we were excited to give Mezza Luna a try... and happy we did. The decor is fresh and modern. Dinner menu has plenty of options, Italian with a twist. The specials were interesting -had Lobster filled crepe! SOO GOOD. The service was memorable, everyone was attentive. My husband wanted the veal chop but it wasn't stuffed - the kitchen was happy to do so, and the presentation was beautiful! The owner Fred came by to talk to the tables, very pleasant. 10 / 10

Great experience!!! I went there for my birthday last Saturday with a party of 5 and had the best time. Service and Food was amazing. Even the timing from apps to entrees to dessert. We were not rushed at all. It couldn’t have been better. I will be back! Thank u Mezza Luna for making my birthday very memorable.

Mario Restaurant the predecessor to Mezza Luna was the best Italian restaurant on Long Island.  How do you improve upon that?  Well, Mezza Luna has.  Same delicious food and same great friendly and professional staff.  But the dining room has had a major facelift, and is now elegant and contemporary.  The food, while still the best you will find, now has a more upscale presentation.  Of course, the prices went up accordingly, but that's okay.  What's not okay, however, is that when the check arrived, it reflected a 3.5% surcharge for using a credit card.  You might expect that from a diner or a bakery, but not from a high end restaurant whose clientele probably mostly uses credit cards, where the check will likely be over $200, and where they could just have well have added $1 - $2 to the entree prices.  Mezza Luna should consider removing this negative characteristic, especially when it is the last thing the customer experiences after a lovely evening.

Excellent food. Menu is extensive and seasonal with options to serve a group with various preferences. Plenty of specials to choose from. Wait staff was kind and courteous. Clean & modern look both in interior and exterior. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful experience here the other night. The wait staff was attentive and helped with my dietary restrictions. The food was exceptional and the interior was designed beautifully. I highly recommend Mezza Luna!!

This weekend I threw my daughter a Baby Shower at Mezza Luna Fine Dining in Hauppauge. Mezza Luna does not disappoint,the food was delicious and the service impeccable. From the planning with the owner Fred to the wait staff and their truly amazing service it made for a beautiful day for my daughter. The menu choices for party's and dining out are endless and pleases the palates of many. I've been getting phone calls and texts letting me know that the the food was amazing and what a pleasant venue It was. It's the perfect restaurant for fine dining and I'Il be back at end of the month  for my 60th! Thank you Fred and staff of Mezza Luna! Lucilia D.
