Beautiful area with fresh air and a good reminder that's there's more than just the city we live in.  Definitely a must go for an easily-accessible change of pace.  Even better if you bring others or a pet.  I went there with a volunteer group, to help clean up invasive plants and would love to do it again.

This forest preserve is a good place for hiking and biking. The asphalt North Branch Trail runs parallel to the river, although you rarely see the river from it. Dirt paths for hikers lead into the woods. I often see deer, especially near the prairie. There is one picnic shelter with a portable toilet.

I really enjoy taking my pup for a walk here.  One thing that bothers me is people do not pick up after their pets.  There are sometimes feces right on the walking trail which is thoroughly disgusting. Otherwise great preserve. Lots of dear and close contact with them.  Beautiful altogether.  The terrain is very well taken care of.

One of the best running spots around. The trails are marked and main ones are asphalt. Great place to come and and walk around to relax.

My favorite forest preserve along the north branch trail. So beautiful and almost fully restored back to its native state, with oak savanahh and prairie restoration taking a toll on the preserve. Lots of wildlife too
