I have been awaiting countless months to receive my income tax refund. This year, and last year as well, they tagged the return for an identity verification. Three certified snail mails and now three faxed attempts made, multiple phone calls, no ability to interface with supervision, and still they cannot seem to get it right. I am informed that it will be at least another 6 weeks when they receive it. It makes me think that something shady is going on. My accountant informs me it is just our state government at work.
They are practicing covid protocols. Can't go to offices. They come out and see you in a chair. Nice people work there
I paid four quarterly estimates on my city and state taxes for 2021. I haven't received any proof that I paid so that I can file my taxes. I have tried calling the Dept. of Treasury to find out when the statements will be released and there is no way to get a response . There is no one to talk to just an automated machine which is worthless. I know I am not the only person in Michigan with this problem. A general posting in the newspapers and on the internet would be appreciated.
I am disabled and have been desperately trying to get my return to pay my property taxes. They are making it very confusing and hard for me instead of working with me.
Cannot get help with letter I received concerning my individual michigan tax return identity. When I finally get ahold of someone for some reason the call drops. The sent me a letter wanting me to prove my identity before sending me my 1500 dollar 2021 tax return. I tried by phone and by online site. Nothing works. When I get a real person on phone the call always drops despite my being very polite and courteous. I am 73 and never been treated so bad by michigan tax return dept. of treasury before this year. They may be making it so difficult so you give up and they keep the tax return.
The website and automated phone line is having issues and I had to call and talk to someone. She was kind and courteous. I only give 4 stars because she did interrupt me one time and when she did her tone was not polite. The overall experience was good. If you take into account that during tax season the number of calls they have to deal with increases and the fact that rude people are calling daily then one can see that with a very hard job they are doing the best they can.
I filed my 2018 taxes in the beginning of March it is now August and still no refund. I got a letter stating i had to confirm my identity which i did. I received my money from the IRS two weeks after filing. Every time i call its more excuses. First it was allow 21 days from the time we received your identity stuff, after the 21 days it was allow up to 60 days for it to processed, now its we had a problem processing and have to have someone go over it by hand it could take another 45 days!!! This is ridiculous. I worked at a conveinence store the state and IRS accepted my refund. When i call i get NO answers as to whats is going on or why and people are rude! How can they expect people to not be upset when its taken 5 months now? Not to mention their online system doesn't work at all! I received my home heating credit but not my refund.
Can’t even speak to a human there’s out taxes at work!
Would give less than one star if it were possible.
Rude as EVER. I do not understand how a person has to confirm their identity when every thing is the same from last year, also I get bills when I owe for taxes at the same address....yes people check their refund status because they are poor and need their money....one agent was so rude it was ridiculous.... Federal taxes came with no problem with the exact same information....
