I don't have the type accounts that would contain hidden fees so I can only tell my experience. Clean and tidy inside. The tellers have always been courteous and happy to answer any questions I have. No 5th Star because, despite their friendly demeanor, they often cannot answer fairly routine questions. Plus I have to call ahead at least 24 hours to get a case of coin rolls (e.g. $25 "case" of pennies) for small change.

Love the drive up ATM. The full-service teller line can be slow at times, but the people are always polite and friendly. No complaints.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced and I plan to close to accounts here. They'll hold your payroll checks for no reason and going into the branch is a joke, no one there has any sense of customer service. I went in there for a consolidation loan stoke to someone all week along and I was supposed to be able to walk in and sign these papers and the lady basically said well I can't help you thanks. Word to the wise bank anywhere else.

As Raul Alvarez says, the hidden fees are outrageous. As an example, look at their early withdrawal penalty they slipped in to change a long-standing 6-month interest penalty to a 3-YEAR interest penalty. Think about it, at their current interest rate of 1% APY (9/2/2014) on a 5 year CD, if you withdraw after a year, you PAY MidFlorida 2%, if you withdraw after two years you PAY MidFlorida 1%, and only after MidFlorida has held your money prisoner for 3 YEARS can you get it back, at a rate of 0%. For the fourth year you'd end up with 1%, or an effective rate of 0.25% APY, and only when the CD matures, and not a day before, will you be able to get the full amount due. Contrast that with State Farm Bank, on 9/2/2014, paying 2.15% APY for their 5-year CD, with a 6-month early withdrawal penalty. Or if you'd want an even better interest rate, EverBank, with branches in Tampa, is paying 2.30% APY, but they have a 15 month early withdrawal penalty, bad but still not half as bad as MidFlorida. BE AWARE of their sneaky tactics, as I am publishing this for your informational purposes. I'm also trying to warn you, I hope you don't make the same mistake I did and trust them, the only "relationship" they're looking for is to pick money from your pocket.
