What a lovely little secret! We had no idea this place existed and are so glad we stopped. The food is great - everything is made fresh - and there's Cedar Crest ice cream cones!! The place is small but clean and friendly. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food, and the quality is what surprised us most. Our salads were fresh and crisp, the soup was AWESOME and I believe the sandwiches were served on homemade bread. This is about a half-mile from the Great River State Trail from the old Petticoat Junction and perfect lunch stop if you're out biking!
This place is amazing!! The subs are phenomenal. They have lots of chip and drink options too. I definitely recommend putting a cookie onto your order because they are fantastic!! All of the workers are kind, funny, and work hard to get things done. It’s a great place to grab a quick bite. 10/10 recommended giving it a try!!
Was looking to try a new restaurant and happen to come across Midway Deli on Google. And it definitely did not disappoint! The customer service was great, friendly and very knowledgeable! My wife and I each ordered a different soup and sandwich combo which was ready in just a few minutes and it really hit the spot! Might just be our new favorite sandwich shop!
The people were super friendly. It was the first time I had French onion soup. It was really good. My husband, who has eaten quite a bit of FOS in his lifetime, also thought it was good. My sandwich was really good. There was plenty of each of the ingredients. I will go back when I am out that way again.
This place has gone WAY down hill since the previous owner left. The cashier today was so confused about their own products that she had to hold up the two sizes of bread to know which one I wanted. Said bread ended up being so undercooked that I couldn’t eat it and the bottom was so raw a little pinch flattened it right back into dough. There was also a sauce on there that was not on the menu and that I did not add that had a funky taste. The sandwich toppings are also lower quality now and they use less of them. If you liked the old place, you will be sorely disappointed with its current form.
Had a couple soccer games in the area today and needed to grab a bite for lunch, I'm a huge "support local" and by chance saw the Deli sign so we stopped in. The young lady was super off-putting, when I asked what the soups where today she rolled her eyes and pointed at the sign. Fine, maybe she was having an off day. We ordered 3 different sandwiches and the french onion soup and all I can say is yuk! The soup was cold and tasted awful, the sandwiches were horrible, and even the "homemade" bread had no flavor and was chewy. Absolutely disappointing. Oh and after a long wait for our food and disappointing service we actually had to go and ask for spoons. I usually give positive reviews but I have nothing positive to say about this place.
This was our first time at Midway Deli and we were blown away! The owner was incredibly friendly, the food was OUTSTANDING, and we will FOR SURE be back! Definitely check out and support this amazing, local business!
The rye bread is to die for! So tasty! Got the rosebud and it was delicious. Good service and friendly people. Will definitely come again.
The hoagies are the best and I love their spinach feta salad and chicken dumpling soup.
I just ate the greatest chicken salad sandwich I have ever had, absolutely amazing. My kids were raving about their sandwiches as well hits all around! and the cookies were awesome. Great atmosphere, super friendly owner!
