Story

Midway Presbyterian Church and Cemetery is a historic Presbyterian church at 4635 Dallas Highway/GA 120 SW in Powder Springs, Georgia.The congregation was founded in 1850 with fourteen organizing members. The sanctuary was built in 1905 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It still stands in the church property. In 1987 a new much bigger sanctuary was built to accommodate the growing community. The church built a 1,200-seat sanctuary and a 700-seat chapel building because it had outgrown the former structure built in 1987.The congregation is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America, and subscribes the Westminster Confession of Faith.The senior pastor is Rev. David W. Hall.

A rarity in this day and age, Midway is a conservative Christian Church in the Reformed Tradition that adheres to traditional, reverent, Reformed worship principles (sometimes called the Regulative Principle). The congregation and church staff are friendly, welcoming and love the Lord. There are several Sunday School classes to choose from, and all are edifying, educational and God honoring. The church's strengths are in theology, its intellectually stimulating approach to teaching and preaching, and it's work in the international mission field, though it has been making more effort in the local and national mission field for some time.

I once attended a sermon at Midway Presbyterian where a guest pastor was invited to preach, about halfway through the lesson; after uttering such phrases as "Judas did nothing wrong" and "is satan really that bad of a guy?" The guest preacher began to slowly turn red. Luckily the lead pastor recognized the signs of a demon and cast him out of the congregation. All in all it was a good show of old time religion and I would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking the Lords word.

Reformed Presbyterian PCA church offers one traditional service each Sunday morning. Other services throughout the week and special events. Reformed theology focuses on the bible.
