We went for restaurant week, and the food was really delicious. It was seasoned nicely and well-balanced but the portions were very small. I've been to many tasting menus and this was the first time I've felt hungry after one. Maybe the regular menu is more filling but not sure.Food: 4/5
Came here for restaurant week to try out the menu. The food was good. The portions were a bit small that I had to get another slice of pizza after the 3 courses. The waiter was so nice he told us the chef added some truffles in our food for free!
As a party of ten people, we ordered several plates of every a la carte item on the menu, with multiple plates of wagyu beef, fried octopus, foie gras, and red snapper bouillabaisse, Beautiful presentation and execution by chef Tomohiro Urata and team. Service was seamless and an excellent evening celebration was had. Thank you MIFUNE !
My husband and I came here 3-4 times, and they already knew our food allergies and preferred. Every time we are satisfied with the hospitality and the special meals. They always provide seasonal ingredients like pumpkin soup, Pacific saury this time. I am highly recommended to go there not only specifically special dinner but more casual date or business dinner.
Chef Urata runs an excellent kitchen. On top of creating amazing food, he took the time to come out to greet me. I met him a few years ago when I photographed the mural project outside the restaurant. We stopped by for the restaurant week menu. Tonight we had as appetizer: duck ham & kanpachi sashimi with yuzu peppers. And mains: grilled black sea bass with dashi beurre blanc, grilled octopus w/ black miso sauce, and the A5 Japanese wagyu with truffle sauce and added the uni sampler to complete our meal. Dessert we had the chocolate terrine and the hoji tea panna cotta. The food was amazing... The flavors while initially subtle bursts in your mouth. The duck ham had a smokiness to it that brings up memories of Italian prosciutto. And then sea urchin sampler... That has to be one of the highlights of the meal. The egg custard uni with hints of mushrooms had to have been my favorite. If anything the uni overJapanese rice had been the most ordinary of the 3. I especially enjoyed the A5... You can't go wrong with a nicely marbled piece of premium meat that literally melts in your mouth. I sampled a taste of the grilled octopus and sea bass as well and they were prepped and perfectly cooked. And lastly.... Service. The servers were attentive without being disruptive... Chef Urata coming out was appreciated and I highly recommend checking out MIFUNE. I love the place and will be back again soon.
We tried this restaurant on a whim. We’re glad we did. It is a lovely place with decent service and solid food. The presentation on some of the food was just gorgeous while the sashimi plate of salmon was just 6 pieces of fish on a plate. The quality of the salmon was nice though. We would eat there again.
One of the best meals I've had in a while. The unique palate of French cuisine with the hospitality of Japanese service. Three of us sat down for dinner and were unsure what to order. There were a couple of tasting menu options but the a la carte looked really good too. We asked the waiter and he said order any combination from the tasting and regular menu. We didn't know how that would work but we ordered two tasting menu options a couple of appetizers and entrees. He wrote it down, asked if we would be sharing everything yes and said okay he would arrange these and customize a dinner plan for us. Everything was excellent. We especially enjoyed the yellow collar special limited daily orders with its shiso sauce. The tempura vegetable accompany with a bit of salt was quite good on its own.
I have been to several fine dinning places including Michelin stars during pandemic and this is one of the best. Great food, service, and environment. They have 4 bubbles outside and it feels pretty safe. We ordered 8-courses tasting menu and it ended up ~12 courses. Full of surprise.
It's refreshing to find a restaurant that offers Japanese French fusion. The overall quality of the food was decent. We did the summer tasting menu and my favorite dishes were the lobster caviar salad with seasonal greens and pear sorbet with rice pudding. The service was fine, but could definitely be improved to enhance the dining experience. Despite the fact that we were sitting at the counter in front of the chefs, the sashimi was prepared ahead of time in a big batch. The waiters were not extremely knowledgeable in the dishes nor drinks. We wanted to learn more about the uni and sake, but the staff was unable to comment much on either. Additionally, the meal felt a bit rushed. The wagyu foie gras was served before we finished the snowpea custard. At one point, I had 4 glasses of wine in front of me. We did the wine pairing as well. All in all, we enjoyed the meal. The restaurant has potential to be better for the price it charges.
Really fantastic experience here. The staff was extremely friendly and not rushing me at all. The food was superb and the perfect amount for an omakase meal. Definitely going back!
