The Milan Area Firefighters Association is made up of firefighters employed by the Milan Area Fire Department. The MAFFA was established in 1948 and is a 501c3 non profit organization. We raise money for various association events, local charity events, and equipment needed for the fire department.

History of the MAFD:
For more than 130, years the Milan Area Fire Department has been proud to serve our community with emergency response service since 1887.
With a coverage area of 77.6 square miles including the City of Milan, Milan Township, London Township and York Township, our 30 paid on call firefighters operate seven apparatus out of one station located at 45 Wabash Street in the city of Milan.
The Milan Area Fire Department runs approximately 1000 calls for service a year. The MAFD provides a wide range of specialized services, including Emergency Medical Response, Motor Vehicle Accident Response including extrication, Search and Rescue, Firefighting, Ice Rescue and Hazardous Material Response, and any others as requested.
Along with being certified in firefighting, all Milan Firefighters are trained to the Hazardous Materials Operation level. The MAFD has 3 Paramedics, 12 EMT-Basics, and 12 Medical First Responders.
