I had such high hopes for this firm, and was sadly mislead. I had my "complimentary" meeting with Peter in October 2016 where we discussed my current situation as well as the possibility of me needing to change some things related to 1099 income. He spent about 30 minutes with me, told me he was going to follow up with me on some things, and we made a plan for him to start with helping me with our 2016 taxes. He quoted me a cost of $250 to file my 2016 returns, and he had reviewed my 2015 returns and 2016 wasn't going to be much different. I found this a very fair cost. He followed up with me on some additional detail related to my 1099 questions via phone the next week, and I told him I would follow up to schedule a meeting for some 2017 planning. The time came to provide all my 2016 documents in early 2017, and I suddenly received a bill for $500 for tax prep. I reached out to Peter requesting clarification, and he assured me it was for the tax prep and for us to have an additional meeting to discuss my 1099 needs in 2017 (I have this all in email). He also assured me it wasn't due until it was time to file, so I let it go figuring we would have our meeting before tax filing. The time came to file my taxes, and I reached out to him requesting that my invoice be lowered to the quoted amount of $250 since we had not had any further meetings. At this point, he started becoming aggressive and saying that the cost of my 2016 filings was worth at least $600, and that $500 invoice included our previous conversations about my 1099 income, during our "complimentary" meeting I suppose? I provided him with the verbatim language of his previous email explaining the $500 invoice, and he then started claiming that if we had any additional meetings they would be at his normal hourly rate. This whole email exchange had the owner Mike Miller CC'd on it and not once did he step in. I was mislead. Then treated as if I was asking to receive something for free, which I never expected anything for free beyond my complimentary meeting. The level of aggression he reached via email with me and he demand that I pay the $500 for my 2016 taxes to be filed was outright blackmail. I had no choice but to pay the $500 to get my taxes taken care of, as I would have been on the hook for the prep cost either way. I have never been so mistreated by a business. I don't appreciate deceptive business practices, blackmail and being called a liar and dismissed. My experience was contrary to everything they promise on their website and every expectation they gave me. And I intend to make sure that everyone hears about it.

Quality, timeliness and good organization are what I've found with Miller & Associates CPAs during the time they have been working on my personal taxes. Staff members are professional and friendly and are available to answer my questions. I would highly recommend this CPA firm.

They've handled my accounting needs for years, and I plan to continue doing business with them for many more years to come. Their customer service is excellent. Great value!

Miller & Associates are very professional. They all are so pleasant and make you feel very comfortable. They always answer all of our questions. I would highly recommend them
