Great little slice of American history! Take the kids to the museum! There is a small diner on location, flight school, brewery....just a cute little spot of history.

America's first defense airport. Very nice museum of aviation history with the main focus on WW2 and the airport's use as a training facility. The staff is very friendly, and there are many vets who volunteer here as guides. You never know who you may meet. The last time we were there we met a guide who was a USMC vet who fought at the battle of Iwo Jima during WW2. Hearing first hand accounts from the "old days", as he put it, can never be replaced by what you read in a history book or see on tv.
