About

The Millworks features a brewery, a rooftop biergarten, a local & sustainable restaurant, an outdoor courtyard, and 3 art galleries with 18 artist studios.

Story

ABOUT THE MILLWORKS

Using reclaimed lumber salvaged from the building, which was formerly the Stokes Millworks, the design preserves the historic timber and brick feel. With the Susquehanna Arts Museum, the Broad Street Market, and the Midtown Scholar Bookstore, the Millworks is part of Harrisburg’s growth as a destination attraction for the region.

THE BREWERY

The Millworks on-site Brewery produces craft beers made with local ingredients and are served and available in both the restaurant and the rooftop biergarten. Enjoy a craft beer with a local and sustainable meal or while strolling through our art galleries.

THE BAR

Our full service bar features craft beers brewed on site from our brewery and nano brews from local PA breweries. We feature a full menu of spirits and artisan cocktails and full food service is also provided at the bar.

THE RESTAURANT

The 180 seat restaurant focuses on authentic local & sustainable food, sourced from growers and producers in the Central Pennsylvania region. Focusing on relationships with growers, and being next to the oldest continuously operated farmers market in the country, the Millworks works to create a sustainable food network, connecting local farms to the city.

ROOFTOP BIERGARTEN

Venture out onto the 165 seat rooftop biergarten and enjoy an aerial view of Midtown Harrisburg. The rooftop serves craft beers from the Millworks Brewery, wines, and specialty cocktails. Take a seat with a beer, cocktail, or a glass of wine, order food, and enjoy some fun pub games with friends. No reservations available or needed.

OUTDOOR COURTYARD

Located in the center of the building, the open air courtyard has views of the restaurant, the brewery, and art galleries and studios, allowing customers to sip local beers while soaking up the atmosphere. The courtyard also has full service from the restaurant.

ARTIST STUDIOS

Thirty two regional artists have studios located inside the Millworks' building. The artists will work on their wares as customers watch from the restaurant and biergarten. Sculptors, painters, and other disciplines will use their studios as their primary location for production. Customers are encouraged to walk through the studios, engaging with the artists and seeing their craft performed in person.

ART GALLERIES

The entry of the building leads directly into one of three art galleries, displaying the works of the Millworks' artists. Restaurant and bar goers will be able to see and buy displayed items, focused on offering art at an accessible price range.

Pricey but worth it. I think you’re paying for the experience. We ordered fried clams for appetizer, pork chops and rock fish for main course. All tasted so good!! Service was excellent and the interior was warm and made us comfortable. Can’t wait to visit the gallery though.

While visiting for a class I viewed the art studios, impressive work, not overly extravagant and suited for enhancing any interior. Food smelled fantastic as it was being prepared, classroom has large windows with a beautiful courtyard outside. Nice ladies room. A seafood extravaganza was held after class, had I not been solo or if anyone in class mentioned anyone would be attending, I'd have certainly enjoyed the experience. I did see a post online that our instructor did attend, so I'm guessing she wasn't aware of the event during class time, and her being an experienced marketing professional I'm rather certain she simply wasn't informed.

Great craft beer and outstanding (fancy) meatloaf. Great service. And an art gallery, because why not? The Millworks made me think Harrisburg is cool.

Have been here many times. Service is always great, for example, I ordered the happy hour drink special tonight and didn't like it, the waitress-- without a word from me --offered to get me something else. Very happy to see local seafood and invasive blue catfish from Chesapeake Bay on menu! Food always excellent. Only negative: have yet to be wowed by their new brewery and hoping that changes; I miss all the great PA beer selections they use to carry.

Good selection of food, reasonably priced given the area but the portions aren't particularly filling. I had the meatloaf which tasted delicious and, despite not being much of a vegetable lover in general, the vegetables that came with the meatloaf were very good. The trouble was within half an hour I realised I was still hungry. If you've got a hearty appetite you'll probably want some sides or a dessert. They offer a selection of six beers. I took a mixed pack away with me and haven't had chance to try them yet but it looks like they have something for just about any palate. The art an gifty shops are good, offering a wide selection at broadly reasonable prices. Definitely a place to visit again.
