This is a hidden gem in St. Louis. It was my wife’s and my first time there. The food was incredibly flavorful, satisfying, filling and light at the same time. We experienced flavors that we were familiar with but have never had them presented that way. There were surprises in each item on every dish. We can’t wait to go back, it was magical.
The owner, Colleen, was super friendly & 100% a food artist, and I would go there again in a heartbeat!! It's healthy, delicious, and extremely filling at a pretty fair price, especially for dinner. The dishes are not only exquisite by taste, but the presentation in itself, how appealing the food looks when it's served.. PERFECT!!
This was tricky to find at first because on the front the sign says California Do-Nut. It’s a small place and we couldn’t sit where we wanted. It’s more like a cafe inside where you’d typically seat yourself but the owner insisted on seating us where she wanted to seat us, there was no need for this. Would also love some options for some breakfast meat sides. The food was great though and the owner was super nice!
Wonderful service for a packed restaurant! Both servers were knowledgeable and helpful with the menu as well as attentive. The blueberry soup was such an interesting option and it did not disappoint. The spices used in it smelled and tasted absolutely heavenly! It’s perfect if you want something light! It was also lukewarm which was a nice surprise! It reminded us a little of blueberry pie! The salmon gravlax was divine! It just felt and tasted very fresh! It was very filling and the bread was so delicious I don’t think I’ll be able to go back to lax on bagels! The space inside is tiny and a bit difficult to move around but it felt extremely cozy and welcoming.
Loving the new location for Milque Toast in the historic California Donut building. Bright, clean and airy. All of the food has fresh ingredients. Love the strawberry lemonade, the avocado toast, salmon gravlax, tart flambé, and anything Indian that pops up on the menu. Service was great Recommend! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options. Some vegan Parking: Side lot
I love this sweet little café! Their new space is beautiful— it's bright and airy inside and they have a courtyard space too. Plenty of parking in their parking lot. Colleen makes the most beautiful dishes that taste as good as they look. She puts so much love and creativity in every dish and you can tell by the menu and ingredients that they are sourcing from local farms. The portion sizes are large and there are a variety of things on the menu to cater to almost any diet— lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options, and one of the few places in town where you can eat out and feel like you're eating healthy. Our server was kind and helpful and enjoyable to talk to. Love this spot!
Milque Toast is the convergence of food, community, and art, creating a unique and vibrant experience for all who visit. They are such a beautiful establishment inside and out, with genuinely wonderful people who work here. While it is really hard for me to deviate from the truffled egg salad, all of the food is art, plated beautifully, healthy, and is beyond delicious! Don't miss out on this special place!
We like the atmosphere and the food is good. We are giving 4 stars because the coffee is too light, and I don't drink strong coffee. We're also waiting almost 30 mins to check the bill.Food: 5/5
What a horrible experience. Majority of the pictures on Google are from the former location, which was much nicer than their current one. Their new location’s patio is closed with just a few tables outside in front of the restaurant on the sidewalk. We had come from the patio based upon the pictures online. The service was sketchy at best. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and confused, even when it was just us and one other table. It definitely got super busy after we got there, but she seemed incapable of taking care of what she already had to do. The wait for our food was very very long. My food was amazing, but my friend got the biscuits and gravy, which were inedible. The biscuits were rockhard and ended up having to send it back. They came out a very long time later and said they had tried to use day old biscuits“by accident“. The coffee press was lukewarm. When we got our check, it was wrong as well. They tried to overcharge us for one of our drinks despite it being clearly marked on the menu
We went to our first Monday night family- styled dinner and it was so fun! Great food and great vibes! New location is so cute and I love that they are now so close to Benton Park!Food: 5/5
