The Minerva Area FCU is devoted to helping our members obtain loans and make sound financial decisions while also giving to our community.
The Minerva Area FCU has open membership to everyone living, working, worshiping or attending school within the Minerva Area Local School District. Immediate family members of current members are also eligible to join. "Once a member, always a member," so even if you change jobs or move out of the membership community, you still retain your membership!
A credit union offers the same services as a bank, but because a credit union is a non-profit cooperative, 'profits' are returned to the members by way of new or improved products & services, lower loan rates and higher savings rates. The federal government regulates credit unions and restricts membership to a "field of membership." The membership for MAFCU is open to those within the Minerva Local School District.
Our credit union is very involved in supporting the community. Some of the local organizations and projects that MAFCU supports include: Minerva YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, Minerva YMCA Soccer, Minerva Local Schools Sports Hall of Fame, Minerva Local Schools sports & academic programs, Junior Achievement programs in Minerva Elementary & Junior High Schools, Brick Street Festival, Minerva Octoberfest & other Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce events, Arts in Stark, The Art Spot, Minerva-Malvern Salvation Army, Annual Coats for Christmas Campaign, and many more.
At Minerva Area Federal Credit Union, we like to say: "We're like a bank, only better." We are local and loyal to the Minerva area. Our goal is to do our part to help the local economy by helping our members obtain the loans they need and provide the best hometown service that we can, everyday!
