Story

Ming Dynasty restaurant was founded in 1990 by master chef James Hu and his wife Amy. Chef James Hu began studying culinary arts at the age of 18. He began his profession as a master chef by the age of 23. In 2000, traveling afar from Dalian, China, master chef Ming Liu and his wife Vicky became part of the Ming Dynasty family.

We have a wide selection of Mandarin, Szechuan, and Hunan cuisine. We offer all you can eat lunch and dinner buffet 7 days a week with more than 25 items to choose from. Not in for a big meal? We offer lunch and dinner combinations that will also satisfy your taste buds.

Fresh and extra tasty food.  Super clean which is important to me!  Very pleased with seafood and vegetarian choices...   Personable and friendly hostess who is probably the owner..  Ample selection that seems like you would order it rather than the ones with 3x the choices that seem like they have been there since yesterday

The food is delicious, but fair warning. They use MSG and don't seem to know which of their dishes have it. I have gone with the family and ordered off the menu with supposedly non MSG dishes and gotten migraines. I no longer eat there, maybe they have ditched the MSG. If they have let me know and I'd be back in a flash.

Food here is always good. Have been eating here since 1998. Owners are wonderful and so friendly. We have eaten Chinese all over the country, and nothing compares to Ming! Large variety on the menu as well as the buffet. Can't say enough about this place. Perfectly wonderful!

Ming Dynasty Restaurant has been in Santa Maria for 26 years. You can choose order off the menu or buffet it. Food is prepared by chefs who was trained in China, so it is  authentic. It is families friendly place. They also offer Monday and Tuesday Children special, Wednesday and Thursday senior special.
Give a try, you will be glad .

Best service anyone could ask for. Buffet is fresh and entrees are largely portioned
