I used to love MJM shoes and would go to the local South Plainfield when it was opened and it WAS great, really good selection / high quality shoes at great prices! Well now since they closed the S. Plainfield and Burlington bought them out I traveled to the Lawrenceville store which is pretty far from me. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MJM WE LOVED? A third of the store was empty shoe racks and what was there was a horrible selection of crappy quality, ugly and outdated shoes!!! The kids section was the worst thing! A very poor selection of a handful of subpar sneakers. If I didn't know better I would think that either this was a Sears store or maybe just ran by them!! Foolish of me is I read the recent reviews and largely ignored what people wrote since we were blind to the negative comments with our previous experience. Bottom line is that we will never go back to MJM! ! If you're reading this review do yourself justice and go elsewhere and if the MJM corporate people see this and the other reviews then fix what's wrong!

Used to have a lot of quality shoes and nice displays. Now all shoes are on racks, not very good quality, and if you need wide width I doubt you'll find it there. Very disappointed. Used to be my go to place.

I usually stop in at least 1x a month to check on the mens footwear. I've been very disappointed with the selection for the last several months. Although the offerings have the usual names, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Timberland and Kenneth Cole, the quality of the offerings are lower end. Rarely are the shoes made with leather uppers or contain "Goodyear welted soles." My local store in Lawrenceville was introducing a new layout, gone are the cardboard boxes. The new layout is made up of metal racks stading ~6' high preventing site lines and making a mess when the shoes fall from the displays. I voiced my concerns with the very pleasant Mgr. who informed me of the corporate decision regarding the layout. He also shared that others have voiced concerns about the quality of the merch. He did say that was also a corporate decision. Because MJM is local and convenient I will check in again. I'm not confident that I will find another pair of leather wingtips by Ted Baker in MJM. If your in the market for man made material men's footwear for less than $50 you will have plenty of choices. Sorry no infp on the womens footwear.
