It is take out only, so there is not “atmosphere.” I just ordered the spicy maki combo, which is supposed to include a spicy, tuna, roll, a spicy salmon crunch roll, and a Spicy blue crab roll. It is the worst sushi I’ve had in a long time. I can’t even see actual pieces of fish in the rolls, it looks like they ground up some type of a paste. I don’t know what supposed to be crunchy about the spicy salmon crunch roll. And the blue crab roll is horrible. I don’t know if their hibachi is good, so I can’t speak to that. Perhaps it’s shame on me for trying to order Japanese food in Chinatown. It won’t happen again at least not from this place.
Ordered Momiji for delivery and it was great quality! The fish tasted fresh and they gave us very generously sized pieces. Only complaint was that the miso soup that came with my order was not very good.Food: 4/5
I really enjoyed the food, but the place to order & pick up wasn't a pleasant atmosphere. While I ordered and waited by the door, I got tons of bites from unknown insects & there were a lot of people hanging around the area that made me uncomfortable. Food wise, I ordered the Happy Santa roll, Mackey, & peanut & avocado rolls. I enjoyed them all. I also got edamame & shrimp Udon soup noodles. Tasty! I'd likely order online or via a delivery service next time. Service was very polite, patient, & friendly.
Was looking for sushi and hibachi near my hotel, and this place hit the spot. Hot, fresh, and delicious. The only downside they only offered takeout, and I was looking to dune in. I ordered the hibachi chicken, spring rolls and sumo rolls sushi.Food: 5/5
I came 2 years ago to DC and found this place. Now that I came back for 3 days, I had all my meals there. That is how much I liked it. Rolls are filled with fish rather than too much rice. Perfect ratio. The Capital roll was my favorite: filled with 4 types of fish and covered in avocado and eel. Delicious. Will be back when I'm in DC again and will definitely recommend to anyone that likes sushi. Service is very fast. The temperature is cold but I guess that is good for the fish, so bring a jacket if you need to.
Was @ Momiji for lunch on a Sunday. We, a party of 2 walked in during late afternoon and were seated right away. Service was good and the food was also good. Would visit again. Ambiance and decor : 4/5 Location and access : 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food taste and quality: 4/5 Cost : $$ $60 for lunch for 2 with drinks Worth the $ : yes We ordered cold sake and it was really good. Appetizers were tasty. Loved the sweetie rolls sushi from their signature sushi list. Did not like the “dynamite” sushi rolls much. Must try their white tuna for appetizers. Would visit again
Tried the take out. The Unagi Don’s octopus is not very fresh. The taste is about average. Nothing big to complain. But just not worth visiting again.
The miso soup is great, I liked the Alaska roll fine. It was a bit loosely rolled but delicious. The spicy Maki combo was not good. The tuna, salmon and crab were all minced to mix in spicy sauce, and it tastes a little like Buffalo sauce? Not at all what I was expecting. Made do by removing half the filling and adding condiments Dietary restrictions: The knives are not cleaned between cutting rolls, ask for a clean knife if you have an allergy
Just ok. Nothing special. My medium-well steak was very-well done and struggled to eat it. It was not only tough but lacked flavor. The grilled vegetables and 2 shrimp were great. Seaweed salad good and Happy Santa roll OK. Not worth a return visit.
This restaurant currently only has takeaway or order. Waiting outside for your takeaway is a bit odd experience but don’t let it put you off. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. I had teriyaki. I hope for this place that they can open completely again.Food: 5/5
