From the Moment I walked up to her restaurant doors, I knew Ms. Moni was a Woman of Excellence! Beautiful, Peaceful atmosphere and ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL FOOD!! I felt like a proud Family member as she greeted us w/a lovely smile, ready to serve. The Chicken Wings/fries with “Moni Sauce” was FRESH & ON POINT! The Steak Tacos, Chicken Tacos and Jerk Tacos ~ OMG WOWZERS DELISH! The Jerk Wings were Amazing! All her food was fresh and my Family enjoyed it! Next time I will order sides for sure. Will be back again and again

I have never had jerk chicken that is so perfectly cooked it jumps off the bone, the only think keeping it together is the perfectly seasoned crispy skin. This, in combination with a side of fries and house Mac provided a hardy Sunday lunch, with portions big enough to share which I recommend.  I was helped by the owner herself, the restaurant environment glowed with her particular charisma and warmth.

Moni catered my babyshower and the food was an absolute HIT with my friends and family!  I’ve since moved outta Illinois, am expecting my 2nd child and wish so deeply that I could get my hands on some of those flautas, baked Mac and collard greens.    Truly one of the best cooks ever, and most beautiful people that I’ve ever come to know.  I miss you sooo much!

I ordered food from this restaurant several times and was impressed each time. From the wings, the fish, the burgers, everything was great. Not sure if this place is still open.

OMG !!! This is SO SO SOOOO GOOD HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!  The Mac was delish, the sweet potatoes were to die for and the chicken oh lawd soooo fire

All around great experience! Moni and her staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Food was terrific. Our table ordered the jerk tacos, jerk wings, catfish nuggets, and the special of beef short rib with an assortment of sides. Great portions and the food was all outstanding. Will definitely be coming back.

Excellent soul food - excellent service!  My in-laws discovered this spot on a walk through downtown Elgin and came home with food that smelled so good I had to go try it for myself and I was not disappointed!  Super friendly folks - with really REALLY good food in hearty helpings!  I’d give them 10 stars if I could!  Will definitely be back!!!

I am so glad we decided to try them, it was amazing. My partner and I ordered for pickup and shared a two entree plate jerk catfish and jerk cheeseburger with mac and cheese and green beans, and a steak cheese fries. It was more than enough for both of us. Freshly prepared and everything was delicious. Easily the best catfish I have ever had, and the steak fries had so much flavor.  10/10 will go again, was expensive but was more than well worth it.
