Park outside and walk your gear in a few hundred yards through a riparian meadow. 3 spots with tables and fire pits. Bring your own water and pack out trash. Quiet and secluded with lots of bird life and the accompanying flies/ bugs. Two outhouses. Vehicles parked overnight must have forest pass, but we got in late and ranger provided an envelope to mail in. Short walk to debris dam. Approximately 1 mile hike or drive to Little Caliente Hot Springs.

Mono campground is beautiful, secluded and at the end of a superbly scenic drive...it would be amazing if it weren't for the insane amount of ticks.  I go camping all the time and I've never experienced such terror before in my life!  I experienced more ticks in the one evening than I have in my entire dog-owning, camping lifetime.  We left the campground immediately because the infestation was so rampant and went straight to washing all our belongings, our dogs, ourselves and our car.  Yet here I am, 2 days later still finding ticks.  Like living out a horror movie.
