Great place to stop for ice cream when traveling. The "small" size cone and sundaes size was quite large. They are cash only. Strangely, they have a sign stating "buns come with all hamburgers and cannot be left off" which seems a little antagonistic, but the place clearly cannot make a gluten free hamburger so if you have a gluten allergy you would not want to order a hamburger here. The chocolate sundae was gluten free and was great.

I've been eating here during th summers for 7 years now. The burgers are the best you'll find anywhere, with great seasoning and just the right amount of melting within the cheese. The ice cream is good but the shakes are to die for. If you're stopping by passing though 395 or headed into Yosemite you won't be disappointed. Just be aware it is cash only and the line can get a bit long when it's packed, but everything is made to order and well worth it.

Three stars only because I just ordered an ice cream cone. That cone was huge though and I skipped lunch that day because of it. I caught a glimpse at some of the food that others had ordered and it looked and smelled great. I will eat there the next time I'm in the area. Don't be surprised if I upgrade my review to 4+ stars.

We often stopped at Mono Cone while passing thru Lee Vining. We only had cones so cannot comment on other food. Service was prompt and pleasant.
Mono Cone is a seasonal establishment and is as of mid October, closed for the winter.

Seems the better years are behind Mono Cone. They have taken popular items off because they no longer want to provide those items. I was refused service when I shared another customer's displeasure with the owner's wife and when I wanted to buy ice water with my meal. Driving 20 or more miles the last 20 years to eat there and the old hag owner's wife 86's me? I've sent them dozens of customers and now that ends. Plenty of more customer friendly food places in the area anyways.
