The children's room is awesome- lots of activities for children. Quiet, clean and lots of fun.

I went there today for the third or fourth time, after taking my 8 month old and 3 year old to the park down the street. The children's section is really nice. My kids played for an hour or so,  and as we were leaving, my son got upset because I didn't have any quarters for him to play the arcade game (which is located in the adult section for reasons unbeknownst to me). A grown woman (50+ish years old) loudly told my son, "shut up, there are people here trying to concentrate!" disgusted, I approached a library employee and told her what had happened. She said, "oh, that's unfortunate". And that's all. Nothing was said to the rude woman. If I would have known that's all that was going to be said, I would have taken matters into my own hands and told her where to shove it. I won't be returning, that was enough proof for me that they aren't as "child friendly" as they seem!

Quieter than Madison branch libraries (though that's not saying much). They do have a "quiet" room that has a fireplace.

This is a great library! Newer building, fantastic children's area, really nice work rooms you can reserve. Good selection plus access to Madison's public library network. Love it here!

Dane County gem!!! Madison library system good, but visit here for best book selection, private study rooms, and wifi. Separate section for children with a large array of books, games, and toys for the kiddos to have fun. Right across from Dream Park and Monona Pool. Pack a lunch a make a day of it or swing by for a quick book pick up!
