Yesterday, I went to meet a friend in Saugerties, but I was early, and I decided to "kill time" by browsing in this legendary shoe store. I have very large feet--size 14--and I found 3 pairs of shoes that fit in 10 minutes! Two were discounted because they were not selling (too large for most people?). Ed was the salesman, and he also gets a full five-star review! He was courteous, polite, and very professional. What a store!! It deserves its great reputation! In an era of large chain stores, Montano's is one-of-a-kind!

Monano's is the ONLY place to buy shoes. Quality products, and helpful staff you cannot find in discount or department stores. Took my 87 year old Mom there today, she needed new shoes because of a walking condition she has just been diagnosed with.
They knew exactly what she needed, made sure she had the proper fit, and that she was OK walking in them. What a wonderful experience.
Got new shoes for myself while there. You should go.

Awesome place! Great service, great prices.  They only sell top quality products. Had an item on back order which I ended up changing my mind about, owner had no problem giving me a refund.  I buy all my boots here and I've always had a positive experience.  Owner is always present and is friendly and hands on.
