I tell my kids regularly that they go to the best school. MSBG teaches conflict resolution between peers, respect for all humans, and an in depth understanding of the world and its’ systems. Not just memorization for the sake of it, or teaching just to meet state testing standards. The Montessori method makes kids better citizens of this planet so it’s an investment that will pay off for a lifetime. Where better to invest than into these so so important formative years that are the building blocks of a child’s mind, body and soul. Montessori or bust!

My spouse and I sent our son here after he had been in preschool. While at MSBG he became an even more inquisitive child with a great interest in learning about the world around him. The school fostered in him the desire to seek out knowledge and learning based upon his interests. He independently completed lessons in the order he chose while at this school. His transition to middle school was uneventful. He was further along in most of his studies than where the middle school curriculum began. Lack of having "letter grades" while in this Montessori school were of little consequence for him in middle school. He has recently graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree. Our son's experience in the Montessori School of Bowling Green has served him well.

We sent our children to this school for nearly a decade. The music program was always lacking, but we had our children in outside music lessons so we let that slide until they hired their current music/band teacher. The curriculum for music was reduced to preschool level for all ages and our children opted to go to the dentist rather than be embarrassed participating in the semiannual performance. We notified the school that our children were to have study time rather waste their time and our money in music and band. Our older children began to be bullied and harassed in upper elementary. We pulled our children out of the school three months into the school year as the administrative staff failed to ensure our students would have a safe and peaceful learning environment. We pulled them after a fifth offense by the same student. We were alarmed to discover our daughter was way behind in Math. She had just completed the three year Montessori cycle so this was not due to pulling them mid cycle. We had been told repeatedly that our children were at or above public school standards. Our daughter received a 9% on her first math test. Thankfully she had an excellent teacher who helped her catch up. It was a year long struggle with tons of extra homework, but she is where she should be thanks to that teacher. We do not recommend this school. It was a huge waste of money and our children did not have a safe, peaceful environment to work in. I regret sending my children there.

This is an amazing school with wonderful educators working with children to help them reach their full potential. We are so thankful we found this school for our daughter.

We have a son who has attended the Montessori School of BG for two years. Originally we had planned to switch him over to public schools for kindergarten but after getting to know this school and seeing the positive changes in our son, we have decided to keep him here for kindergarten and beyond. We are also starting our daughter in the early childhood program next year. Our son has developed amazing patience and concentration skills for such a young age. He is enthralled with math and loves all of the math and number work in his classroom. We have met older students and alumni of this school and the thing we are most impressed with is the lifelong love of learning that is instilled in the students. This is something that they will carry with them forever and can have a very positive impact for their entire life. We are also impressed with the entire school community and the involvement that parents and teachers have. I feel as if I have a voice in the school and my children's education. Although the school costs a bit more, we believe that the positives make the tuition worth it. We see it as a great investment in our children's future.
