My wife and I are from Melbourne Australia. Whilst on a 5,000 mile road trip in May 2014 we were lucky enough to bump into Steve Jones of the Mayor's office outside the Montgomery Biscuits stadium one night. He was kind enough to show us around City Hall the next day. Steve characterizes what's so great about the city of Montgomery and the State of Alabama: welcoming, warm and friendly. Whilst clearly demanding respect, City Hall is not so imposing as to make you feel uncomfortable. It does have that 'officialness' about it when you go through the reception area and see the council chambers, but you feel humbled and honored being there. Fascinating story about the hand painted mural in the storeroom behind the chambers. For an hour so, Steve made us feel like we were special. City Hall is a tribute to the wonderful people of Montgomery.

This city refuses to hire Police Ofgicers that honor their oath and our Constitution. Spend your money elsewhere and do not go to this town.
