It was a July Sunday afternoon when we drove in from the south end of Ottawa to visit Jacques Cartier Park. After circling around the park for a while, it became apparent that there was not a parking spot to be found. So we gave up and decided to go Mooney's Bay Park instead. In the large parking lot next to the track and field complex, we found less than half a dozen open spots but we're able to park. By this time, toilet facilities were required but none were apparent. The track and field complex had washrooms but they were locked. Fortunately, there were a couple of trees to provide some privacy and relief. We were then able to enjoy the new playground with all the many different ways of climbing, sliding, twirling and twisting. We rate the playground five stars, the parking one star and the toilet facility zero stars.

The beach itself is very long and beautiful and has so much potential. But it is so very dirty. There isn't much parking and you have to pay for parking. Seems very unfair. I don't have to pay to park at other city beaches or parks. The new park is huge and great bur there is no shade whatsoever so it is scorching hot. My kids did not last more than 15 minutes because of this. And when we went to cool off at the beach it was so dirty and disgusting we decided to just leave. The smell coming from the water was disturbing. There is also a lack of picnic tables and benches. We were very disappointed. The public washrooms are also disgusting and dirty. We won't be returning.

Small and expensive parking lot for the large size of this popular park. Home to one of the largest playgrounds in Canada, but everything is smallish, spread-out, and modular, it could have done well with at least one large fort-like traditional play-structure. Beach is often closed for pollution.

Beautiful big park with some paths, connecting you to hogs back and the canal and riverside. Also so cross country skiing goes on here in the winter if you ever want to check it out. I Went here for HOPE beach volleyball. Been going every year, it's always a great party. It was awesome this year, despite all the flood damage done to the park. Hopefully it's dryer next year.

The Canada 150 playground is amazing. We spent 2 hours there and never got bored. So many different options for playing.
