This campground was a wonderful place to visit for the weekend. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful. We stayed at campsite #8 which is across from the lake. It's a very tight spot to get into (we have a 28ft travel trailer) but the staff was so nice and helped us get parked (late at night). The bathrooms were very clean! The only thing I'd say is that the showers are on a 30sec shutoff system...and you have to continually push the button to keep the water flowing. Plus you cannot control the water temp. However this didn't bother us much so I still wanted to give them a 5 star rating. The lake was a beautiful sight to wake up to in the morning. We'll definitely be back! I would recommend campsite 9 as its right on the lake and a double site :))) thank you Morganton Point Campground staff for the wonderful experience!

We stayed one night here and it was just so beautiful! Quiet and peaceful. The lady at the booth was very nice to us. We are younger in our mid 20s and reading the reviews about being "watched and fined" for little things had me worried. Not that we do anything illegal! Don't let the comments keep you from staying. It was just fine! We stayed by the lake. The campgrounds are very clean and well managed. We loved how clean the bathroom was! Shower was warm! Did not mind the water timer shutting off every 15 secs or so. Saves water. 👍

I love Morganton Point - I really don't understand the negative comments. it's a state run park - no alcohol. It's plain and simple. Everybody doesn't drink alcohol and do not like being around alcohol and having to listen to loud obnoxious people who are intoxicated! What you do in your tent/camper is your business, but no one else wants to listen to you! We have camped here many times - we are adults and realize rules are in place for a reason and don't have a problem obeying RULES. We have never had a problem with the current hosts or hosts in past years. The campground is lovely, however, some of the sites are a bit tight for a travel trailer or RV, hence, only 4 stars. To the person who camped at Whispering Pines - I hope you enjoyed that. The campers are packed in like sardines - and dogs bark and run loose. The bathhouse is disgusting. I'm pretty sure the last time we camped there someone was selling drugs out of the camper next to us. We had to complain several times about loud music.

Nice place to swim and relax. There are tons of rocks in the lake which we are not used to being in Florida. I recommend wearing water shoes. You can rent kayaks-not sure of the price. We were able to purchase 2 inner tubes for $10 and they will inflate at no extra charge. There is a small beach area. There are also picnic tables and grills. Will definitely go back.

Rude staff. The lady also told us AFTER we paid that we weren't allowed to drink and if we were caught drinking we'd be fined 350$ per open alcoholic beverage. As we kindly told her we were going to go elsewhere, and asked for our money back she said it was not refundable. We then told her that we wished she would have told us about the drinking thing before we paid. She wouldn't even look at us and said "I tried" under her breath. It was a joke. Anyways, we went to Whispering Pines, and they were so much more laid back.
