This is my absolute favorite place in South Florida!! If you are coming to visit or if you live here and somehow haven't done so yet, make sure to visit the Morikami! The gardens are lovely and education is central to their mission. There are changing exhibits inside and a plentiful gift shop that's almost like a museum itself. They have a few meditative rock gardens that I love to visit when I'm feeling stressed. The only problem is when you go there and there are other annoying people walking on the gardens or talking a bunch! So try to go at a time when it's likely to be empty. The restaurant has tasty food too, I recommend it. :)

We visited here during the winter time. I'd HIGHLY suggest not coming during the blazing hot South Fl summers, as this garden involves a fair amount of walking. Don't get me wrong, I love a good long stroll, just not when it's 90 and humid. My favorite part of the gardens was seeing the Bonsai trees! The other enjoyable part was the building with the Japanese schoolroom and other cultural aspects of Japan. This was a peaceful and serene spot to visit. The gardens were a bit lacking to me. I'd give this experience 3.5 stars overall, it was a bit underwhelming compared to some other gardens I have been to in other parts of the country. For tourists visiting South Florida this is a good alternative activity for those who do not relish sitting on the beach for hours.

Morikami is a wonderful garden space which transports visitors to another place. A place of tranquility and peace...where you can experience the wonder of Japanese gardens...the sheer size of the grounds is amazing as is its attention to detail. We found it immaculately cared for and the staff cheerful and helpful. I want to come back with my paints and an easel!!

My wife and I absolutely loved it here!! We spent the better part of a day here just taking our time and soaking it in. We also had lunch at the restaurant, which was terrific! We will be back next time we're in the area! We really enjoyed seeing all the different styles of bonsai trees they had in the Bonsai Garden. Our only disappointment was that the museum was closed at that time, but it gives us something else to look forward to when we go back!!

You could not ask for a more fun and informative cultural experience in South Florida. The park is a little outdated and could use updating as well as more exhibit space/displays. They hosted a display of Japanese Tattooing when we attended first but have since removed it and the current doll and clay exhibition is beautiful but small. The gardens are great and the restaurant is fantastic. The restuarant needs more capacity badly as it seems to always have a line and maybe even a movie or other interactive experience. Japanese language classes available on a regular basis and other experiences would definitely enhance the experience. Happy to be a member now and to return and hopefully direct some future development. Great Job Morikami Team!
