Had an incredibly disappointing stay. We arrived at about 8pm, as we were driving from Portland after work. I had specifically requested a non-smoking room within my online reservation request. When we arrived we were assigned room 115, I think. There was a non-smoking room sticker on the door, but when we walked in the room reeked of strong stale cigarettes. I called the main office to let him know, and he simply said "thanks for letting me know". In retrospect I should have requested a new room, but I hate being the squeaky wheel. However, he should have offered to switch us to a different room At about 0100, I was awoken by commotion directly above us, as if they were moving in or out; lots of things being dropped on the floor and loud footsteps. After about 30 minutes I called the main office, and the lady said she would say something to them. Three hours later they were still at it, so I didn't get back to sleep till after 4:30am, and I had to be up at 0600 to get ready to run the Eugene Holiday Half Marathon My clothes were saturated with stale smoke, so I felt very self-conscious at the race because I could smell it on me. I was poorly rested, frustrated, and so disappointed at my experience at this motel. I have stayed at this location a few times before, and I keep my expectations low, in general, because its pretty economical, but this stay was one thing wrong after another Michelle Olson

The front desk lady Lisa was very good at her job I've never had such a good an easy check in as I had with her. However the manager lady was not a friendly lady. She DNR me for no reason. I had to clean my own room because it was not clean when I arrived.. the room had not been strips of all the Linens or nothing so Lisa was awesome about giving me into a different room but because of limited rooms they had I told her I would just clean the room myself so she hooked me up with all the cleaning supplies and Linens I needed for the room. So how I see it is you need some new housekeepers that don't skip rooms and maybe a new manager that isn't rude to the guess who just because the housekeepers can't do their job.

Location was extremely noisy, which I realize is beyond their control - but maybe in future renovations, they could add better soundproof windows? And while the renovated interior looks nice, the beds were rather hard and lumpy. Otherwise the room was okay, and front desk clerk Monique was very friendly and helpful! Maids were nice too, and respected my handmade "do not disturb" sign (since they don't provide one). I can't complain too much overall, though, since I got the room for only $49/night through Expedia. You get what you pay for, right? Major pro: They allow pets (even my 50lb dog) to stay for free, and even gave him treats & doggy potty bags when I checked in. :-) Also, when I asked about heating up a snack after arriving at like 3am, the desk clerk offered to heat it for me in the staff room. Good service!

First, the front desk staff was accommodating for the situation, which was helpful. But the fact remains that we did not end up spending the night at Motel 6 and went to a different hotel. Upon entering the room we were assigned, a non-smoking room, it smelled like an ashtray. Strongly. When I went down and explained this to front desk staff, they offered to "de-fog" the room to rid it of smell. I said I would rather not breathe all those chemicals--and would rather just get a refund if possible. Staff needed to verify what we were saying, and he agreed and issued the refund. That was professionally handled. But the reality was that the room was completely unsuitable and they were charging $120 for it because of a local college football game.

I would have given a "5" rating except that there was no shampoo or conditioner available -- which I found out after undressing and about to enter the shower. I have never stayed in a hotel or motel that did not supply tiny little containers of both. The location was perfect, the room was exceptionally clean, and the people helpful and pleasant. I think the only improvement would be to let customers know that only soap is stocked in the rooms. I didn't want to get dressed again to go to the office to buy the shampoo and conditioner. I would have bought them at the office when I checked in if the staff had mentioned that they were not stocked items in the room.
