The visit to Alabama was terrific. However my stay at Motel 6 was about standard. I ask for non- smoking room. The toilet had a hard time when flushed. The door seemed hard to shut. There was cigarette burns in covering and pillow of both beds. The box springs were nasty. Not enough electrical outlets to use. Those few that were in room were occupied by stuff already in room. No small refrigerator or Kleenex. Neighbors were noisy. But the a/c unit worked great, bathroom water nozzle was outstanding, and plenty of hot water.

While this location is a good value for the area; Just about every room smells like smoke (even if NON smoking). I think it is related to the HVAC units and that the laundry is all washed together. Speaking of laundry, every sheet/bedspread has burn holes in it. The floor in most rooms (I've stayed in 5) is lifting and providing a trip hazard. Several doors in rooms I stayed in do not close without force or do not lock behind you. There are several doors in rooms that one can see through the cracks into the rooms as the doors are not aligned in the jamb or other.

I asked for a non smoking room and had to sign a paper that said if i smoked in the room there would be a $150 fee. I dont smoke so i gladly signed it. Then, when i got to my room, it had obviously been smoked in. There were cigarette burns in the blankets and sheets. There was mold in the bathroom ceiling. There was a hole in the bathroom door. The bathtub wouldn't drain the tub water. And there were big stains on the carpet next to the beds. I took photos of all of this. I hear such good things about motel 6 but I was highly disappointed in my experience with my stay.

Our high school fishing teams stayed 3 nights for state championship tournament. Rooms were fine. Location convenient.

Cigarette holes in all the blankets when I asked for a new set I was informed that "they all have holes". I wasn't even staying in a smoking room. At least the various front desk workers where nice.
