The Mother-in-Law House Restaurant has been serving fine food and warm smiles to our customers since 1981. Located in the center of Historic St. Charles, the Mother-in-law House Restaurant offers fine dining in a white tablecloth setting where the food is cooked to order for a reasonable price. The Mother-in-Law House is the center piece of a trip to Main Street.

We didn't eat a meal here but I had delicious homemade coconut cream pie and my husband had peach cobbler and ice cream.
The staff were very nice. 
The home was built in the 1800's. The man built half of the home for his family and the other half for his mother in law.
The historical home on Main Street has
beautiful interior decor. Seems like a very cozy and romantic place to eat.

I just had my bridal shower at Mother In Law House and it was absolutely wonderful! Donna was so accommodating and kind. The food was delicious, the waitress was excellent, and everyone had a blast! I will definitely be recommending my friends to the Mother In Law house in the future for their showers!! So special to have my shower in such a beautiful and historic place.

My wife and I had dinner with friends here tonight. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! Donna brought out some of her famous blueberry muffins which are out of this world! We sat on the veranda for a few hours chatting, and when they were closing up for the night, Joshua the kitchen head, brought us a pitcher of water and told us that we could stay as long as we'd like, we could leave everything and that he'd take care of it in the morning. We will be recommending this place to friends, and we will be back! 5 stars!

The place is cute. But the service was terrible.  It took forever to get our drinks and the food took over 45mins to come out. I ordered a sandwich! All of our food was bland, old , and cold. It's a classic tourist trap that prices are high and the food mediocre. Whoever called this place fine dining had to be joking. It's just old and dated. Very understaffed. And I'm sorry but that food was absolutely awful.

The service and food are excellent.
Love,  love, love the salad bar.
No one can touch Donna's homemade desserts. 
A great place to sit on the outside patio with a gorgeous riverview and have peach cobbler and coffee!
