We have four grandchildren under the age of 6, along with their parents, who accompanied us on the Polar Express excursion in 2016 ... and everyone LOVED this experience!! Even our 2-yr-old twins were enthralled by the lights and Polar Express characters who kept us entertained as we chugged down the tracks. We traveled 1st Class and feel confident that was the right way to go. An excellent way for families to enjoy the Christmas Season together!

We always have a good time. It's well-worth the drive from Portland, and the price for the meal trains offers excellent value. The staff seems to be having fun, which makes it fun for the passengers. If you haven't ridden the Mt. Hood Railroad yet, what are you waiting for?

My family had a really good time on the polar express, my son is a huge fan of the movie, I just wish the ticket pricing schematic was priced a bit lower in each class. And I was upset by the fact my 2 month old had to purchase a ticket to ride. Other than that the employees were courteous, the actors stayed in character. Though they did move on a little too quick for my son's taste and in the middle of his questions, they would answer the adults questions, however this is really for the kids. Hope to do it again though.

The Mt Hood Railroad trip up the valley is a wonderful way to spend a large portion of a day. The views are spectacular and the acting out of a train robbery is a lot of fun. The lunch that can be purchased at Parkdale is very delicious. We liked the trip so much we did it twice during summer 2017!!!

We scheduled this train trip because my almost 5 year old granddaughter loves trains. I wanted her to experience riding on one, and this was a great first experience for her. Everything was on time, the snacks were great and the staff were over the top friendly. They wanted to make sure everyone aboard had a good time. The stopover was a little short to do too much, but we made it work and she loved the whole day!!!
