Founded in 1856, Mount Olivet Funeral Home and Cemetery has been acclaimed as one of Nashville's most renowned resting places. Its celebrated history includes impressive family memorials and noted interments of many famous Nashvillians, statesmen, and soldiers.
Today, the cemetery's peaceful, protected, park-like grounds provide a serene setting for its visitors. Our perpetual care reflects preservation of the historical aspect of the cemetery, including headstones, monuments, sculptures, and its forty gardens.
Recently, the Nashville Tree Foundation recognized Mount Olivet as an Arboretum. This foundation works to preserve and enhance Nashville's urban forest, identifying the oldest and largest trees in Davidson County. Mount Olivet is proud to increase environmental awareness and to provide a learning experience. This botanical garden forms a living collection of more than seventy-five labeled species and varieties of trees for visitors to enjoy.
At Mount Olivet Funeral Home and Cemetery, we celebrate life. We believe that every life is unique and every funeral is too. Whether you prefer a traditional service for your loved one or would like to plan an elaborate celebration, we can help you personalize.
