This hidden gem is nestled between the library and botanical garden on eastern parkway. I've pasted this park hundreds of times not knowing it was there. I climbed up the staircase and to my surprise; first date picnic spot hint-hint fellas. I am definitely going back to impress upon my dates.
Came for a play date at the splash pad. Great playground with bathrooms. It's in partial shade too so the kiddos aren't getting blasted.
Small but scenic park next to the Brooklyn Museum and Public Library. It is a bit elevated, allowing for good views of the vibrant street below. A good place to while away time and do people watching.
Pretty basic park. OK for the kids playground but not much else
It's just pretty darn cool. I can't wait to go again..
A wonderful place to take our granddaughter to run around, place on the swingsets, and ride her scooter. Clean, well lit. Wide open paths conducive to bikers and runners, & walkers. It has a very good vibe and we have met many people with whom ours can play. Great place to burn off energy and get exercise! A lot of parents leave their children's older toys for others to enjoy.
Clean and small park between the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and The Main Brooklyn Library. There's a cute children's section with foam flooring, a jungle gym, and swings. Additionally there's a giant circle path surrounding the perimeter that people walk around. Lots of dogs.
Nice park, but dog owners need to keep their dogs in the circle, which is the designated area. Someone should be in this park to enforce the rules. I was working out on my mat and a dog proceeds to run up to me and stand on my mat and drop his ball in front of me, before you start, it was not in the circle. It was outside of the circle where humans are actually allowed to be. Of course, the owner began to preach about how his dog is friendly and yada yada yada, but that was besides the point. Now I know that sounds cute and everything, but I'm not a fan. And for that Mount Prospect Park you get two stars.
I come here quite a bit with my toddler to the playground. The paths are pretty bumpy and patched up in places, and the lawn is basically a big dirt patch in places. The playground could also use some repair love, but that doesn't stop us from having a lot of fun. The playground is pretty good-sized and the water-spraying seal in is always a big hit with the kids in the summer. There's tire swings and regular swings, and public restrooms that aren't the worst I've ever seen.
Fun hidden gem ,great place to spend the afternoon after the green market or the library.
