I ordered a complex cake Tiramisu on Thursday, then it was ready early Saturday. They also provided a courtesy call. The cake was absolutely delicious, beautifully decorated, and elegant. The price was perfect! This is the place to go! I will not go anywhere else!
This is our second time ordering a cake from them and we were able to order very last minute. And they did such an amazing job very professional and it tasted so heavenly! One of the best spots to get customize cakes!Food: 5/5
Don't bother coming here before 9am they allegedly open at 8am because they don't seem to want anyone in there. This place doesn't have it together like they used to; it's less welcoming, and the consistency of quality is diminishing. I have been turned away too many times with the few things I want to buy sitting right in front of me. The newer staff isn't as friendly. I've been here dozens of times over the last several years, and it's been gradually slipping since 2020; they used to have a few tables where you could sit down and enjoy your pastry, and they used to be ready for walk-in customers when they unlocked the door in the mornings, but neither of those things are true anymore. What kind of bakery isn't stocked when they unlock the doors in the morning? Many times I have been there between 8am and 9am to find several empty shelves, and it's not because of a morning rush; the items I want are available -- I can see them boxed for an incomplete H-Mart order on the now cluttered east side of the store -- but those items are not available for walk-in customers. So if that order for H-Mart - literally next-door - is not fully ready, and Mr. Bakery is making more of everything to stock their own shelves and complete that large order, yet there are customers walking in for a few of those same things: why make the walk-ins wait? Why turn walk-in customers away? H-Mart is already waiting, it's not going anywhere ... and it's not even open before 9am! There have been too many times this past year I have visited this place in the morning to walk out with literally nothing. Why unlock the door for walk-in customers if you can't serve them? You can't sell me just 6 pastries that are sitting RIGHT THERE? Imagine walking into a donut shop, seeing donuts spread out all over the shop, but being told none of them are for purchase; only during the last year or so has this been my experience at Mr. Bakery; it feels like I'm being told "the section of the store with the empty shelves is for you." Only once was I very kindly assured that I could take a few things from the incomplete H-Mart order, and it was one of the older ladies who had been there for years. The younger lady with glasses who is relatively new there actually snapped at me one time I went to look through those boxes, which are just laid-out open in the front of the shop, as if they were on display. This morning I even asked to purchase specific items at the counter, and was curtly told "they're not ready yet." Not only were there literally boxes of these items behind me, but I could even see them freshly-baked on a rack directly behind her! This place seems to be going from a labor-of-love, hidden gem, family bakery, to a factory for large orders. I still love almost everything they bake I wish they'd stop putting the cheapest hot dog possible in the sausage rolls but overall it feels a lot less welcoming. Please bring back the tables and coffee, clear out the clutter, and if you're going to unlock the door and advertise your shop as open at 8am: stock the shelves first! If you don't want to serve walk-ins: keep the door locked, and advertise different hours; that will give you lots more room to stack raw ingredients and empty boxes in the front of the shop. I get it, Mr. Bakery: you don't care about selling me a $30-$50 basket of baked goods because you've got a big corporate order. I'd rather spend money somewhere I feel welcome. Dietary restrictions: Labeling is vague and inaccurate; most items come in a bag with the same pre-printed list of ingredients, but things like fruit and nuts are not named on packaging for individual items, and are only written on tags by the racks.
Delicious , freshly made baked treats. Pleasantly surprised by how adorable this bakery was once we stepped inside. We also loved how everything was individually packaged.Food: 5/5
2/5/23-Very good food. Of the 3 items I tried only one I wouldn't get again. Be careful though on what you grab. One of the items I got was supposed to have matcha cream in it, but it actually had almond cream in it. Not what I was expecting, but still good. Great for a quick breakfast.
I go to this place every time I go H mart. It was really disappointed when I open my cream puff and found a hair. I do not want to go back again anymore :Food: 1/5
Food tastes just full of sugar, all items taste almost the same. I feel like the quality has fallen quite a bit from previous years. Matcha cake tastes like no tea is inside just simply vanilla cake. Bean cake tastes like vanilla cake. Almond cookies taste like… vanilla cake!! Everything I tasted was terrible. Mochi was soft when I bought it, the next day was hard as a rock. Prices are very high for this quality.
Great selection of Asian pastries! The sweet rice ball was filled with delicious red bean paste. The red bean and cream bun was exactly the same as in Korea!
Got a couple of pastries to try out. Had a round ball that was filled with red bean paste, best bean pastry I have had. Good filling, soft pastry. Pizza was too sweet, had a hot dog like sausage, onion, pepperoni, sweet tomato sauce. Pass on this one. Pastry with a u shape that was like filo dough with almonds on top was just okay.
Mr Bakery offers several types of baked goods from sausage rolls to sweet breads and cakes. I believe it is family owned but don't know for sure. The pricing is fair and their products are sold at H Mart which is next door. There is ample parking in the lot that is shared by multiple businesses in the area.
