Had the Spicy Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen and Pork Belly Bao. Was very good. Crowded on. Sunday afternoon so went to better seating on the roof outside. The kitchen area is open to see the cooks so nothing is hidden. Very good experience and enjoyed the food. Highly recommend Kid-friendliness:
Food - Tonkotsu ramen was pretty bland. Noodles were sticking together so they weren’t fresh or prepared properly. Egg was old and not fresh and the colorization gives it away. The meat was old and has no seasoning to it. Service - Poor, no enthusiasm and no communication in the kitchen! Seems like everyone didn’t want to be there which means the food was made with no love. Atmosphere - Sad, again, looks clean but no communication or enthusiasm between the workers. Some had earphones in so there was no attentiveness to the food making process. Overall, don’t recommend. Get something else. First look for the atmosphere, then the service, then the food.
I should have read comments here before ordering anything. The worst ramen eaten in North America, period. The price was even higher than other authentic ones.Food: 1/5
The tonkatsu ramen was the blandest ramen ever. A beautiful looking ramen with no taste whatsoever- they literally forgot to add salt and seasoning. Saddest tasting ramen I've had, and like others have mentioned this has been going on for a while. Stay away from the ramen is my suggestion, or ask for a sample.Food: 1/5
Totally enjoyed our lunch here at Mr. Taka inside Time Out Market New York. Food were wonderful and very flavorful. Kudos to the people in the kitchen. Excellent customer service too from Pratikshya and the rest of the team. Highly recommended Food: 5/5
I had a chicken rice bowl with a side of chili oil. It was busy so my order took some time but I was excited seeing the big bowl of food. I took a bite and it was really good! The toppings made it taste so good and I wish I added more but the price was already $30 and the toppings are expensive. I still enjoyed my meal but I feel like they could make a smaller portion for less money. I ended up with a lot of rice left and no more chicken so I ended up throwing it away. The price of this made dish left me thinking it wasn’t worth it. The area however is really cool and nice to walk around.
Tried out the Spicy Vegan Curry and was not disappointed, the price was about right for the size of the dish. Broth was spicy and tasty, the Tofu was cooked well and the garnish was fresh. Not sure why all the bad reviews! Would definitely eat again Food: 5/5
Just got takeout from here and the food was amazing! I’m usually not a fan of bao buns but decided to try their pork belly buns and they were delicious! I loved the addition of the carrot/daikon slaw and cucumbers. Will definitely be returning Food: 5/5
So disappointing! The tonkotsu broth is literally bland & tasteless. The temperature is practically lukewarm. The only saving grace is the pork belly. The brand is running the restaurant in this location to ground. No ramen deserves to be served like this.
Overall great ramen for a food hall! I was impressed. The black garlic offered a really nice flavor to the ramen. There is the option to get spice on side. It was prompt, hot and delicious! There are options to eat at the counter or at a table.Recommended dishes
