Mundo Verde is Washington DC’s first “green” public charter school focusing on biliteracy and sustainability through project-based learning.
Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School offers parents in Washington, D.C. an exciting new option for quality, tuition-free education for their children.
At Mundo Verde, we seek to create a diverse, nurturing environment that fosters social and emotional development as well as academic excellence. We motivate life-long learning by empowering students to explore, learn, and think.
Mundo Verde embraces an educational model known as Expeditionary Learning that has proved successful in Washington’s most sought-after public charter schools. We are the only school in the District to also focus on environmental sustainability and bilingual education.
Eventually serving students through eighth grade, Mundo Verde opened in August 2011. When at full capacity, Mundo Verde will serve more than 400 students.

Mundo Verde ha adoptado un modelo pedagógico conocido como Aprendizaje Expedicionario, de probada eficacia en las escuelas charter más renombradas de Washington. Somos la única escuela en el Distrito en concentrarse además en la sostenibilidad del medio ambiente y la instrucción bilingüe.
Con miras a ofrecer instrucción hasta el octavo grado, Mundo Verde abrió en agosto de 2011. Una vez que se encuentre funcionando a capacidad plena, Mundo Verde acogerá a más de 400 estudiantes.
Mundo Verde aims to foster high levels of academic achievement among a diverse group of students by preparing them to be successful and compassionate global stewards of their communities. The engaging curriculum focuses on sustainability and biliteracy.
