Lovely small museum with well curated Nebraska art. Planned on spending a while here, but it is deceptively big. Worth a visit while visiting Kearney or driving through Nebraska.

Possibly the biggest let down of a museum I've been to. I understand art is subjective but a few cans stacked up doesn't really qualify for me. A lot of the art was super underwhelming. Also upon arriving the woman at the front desk was leaned back in her chair scrolling through her phone and didn't greet us. Didn't say anything when we left and didn't even bother making eye contact with us.
Really intimate collection with lots of stellar pieces. Beautiful building as well! AND the employee working was very helpful and friendly!
Excellent reuse of Kearney's old Post office. Lots of beautiful items on display. Free admission, too!
An interesting, albeit oddly themed, collection of Nebraska art. Likely a very short visit for most visitors, but an educational and aesthetically pleasing one nevertheless.

Walked in, dropped a donation in the box & began looking at the exhibits when some guy walks in and informs me that even though the door was wide open & no one was at the front desk, they were actually closed & I had to leave. Welcome to Nebraska, I guess? Good riddance. Can't wait to get back home to Tennessee.
The Museum of Nebraska Art is never a dull stop when in Kearney. Its exhibits are distinctive and beautiful, the layout is neat and clean, and the works within are all worthy of appreciation and study. Every visit I always find a new favorite artwork or a new perspective. It is a great for the artistically inclined whether artists themselves or simple appreciaters, even as the higher floor of exhibits can be difficult to reach without some direction.
