First visit today. First review: 5 of had lunch after church today. My friend picked this place and I was eager to try. PORK CUTLET. One of the best pork cutlets I've ever had! The pork cutlet was flakey and crispy on the outside, yet juicy and tasty on the insides. Tender, not tough. It's definitely one the 3 top dishes to order. So many different sauces. One of my favs. The most popular was the JOKBAL: Pork feet and hock slices. It's a large dish. Very unique. Must try with a large group 4 to 6 people. And lastly 2 different soups. Galbitang: Beef short rib soup with glass noodles. The noodles were nice snd chewy. And the other one was the milky one. Also good on a cold day. The service staff spoke fluent Chinese and English. Interesting that I didnt hear any Korean spoken. Im sure the staff are multilingual at this Korean restaurant. Good service. Parking: Limitrd street parking on Baldwin, but plenty of free parking behind the restaurant.
Clean place and simple decorations. The place specializes in soup based dishes. The bossam dish we had was very good and big portion. The kimchi dishes were good as well.
Delicious and authentic tasting Sullungtang and Galbitang!! Their garlic kimchi was so addicting too! Parking is plenty, I appreciate how clean the tables and restaurant is inside, and the employees were nice. The prices are a little high but lots of places are right now with inflation unfortunately.
FOOD POISONING ALERT: We ordered from here a few times. And then, 2 days ago ordered 4 dishes. The Tukbaegi Bulgogi probably had old or contaminated meat. This caused vomiting and nausea for my family for 2 days, a 10 hour ER visit, blood and urine tests, IV fluid from dehydration and Izv meds for nausea. Beware of the food here. We will Never eat here again or recommend this place.
Decided to give this spot a try since I’ve been craving Korean food! It’s a small shop and you can park in the “back”. It’s a parking lot and I do believe it is also their front door. They have 2 doors. Either one works so you won’t have to walk all the way around! When you sit down, they’ll give you a menu and then you order. After ordering, you get 2 side dishes. Both are delish and can get more if you ask. Sadly we couldn’t bring any home. #13- very sweet! Lots of meat! Not enough noodles in my opinion. But I did like the sweet broth. Comes with rice!
Love the soup. Came out nice and hot. Meat is tender and this is one of the best Kimchi I have had in a while. The only complain is they close very early. Come early!
First time here at this soupy Korean joint. The first thing I immediately noticed was how attentive the waitress was. She was a lean Korea lady with a boisterous laughter. She made sure that we had our refill of our kimchi all the time and came around every now and showed us how to expertly dive into the food without making a mess. At the end of the night, I dropped a couple of coins and she actually bent down to pick them up. Talk about stellar service! She had me at hello. The food was above average. The kimchi was fresh and supple. The sauces were great. Not sure about the plastic box rice but maybe it's just a phase. The soups were all good, especially #10 which I had not had in any other Korean soup restaurant. The selection is small with a lot of options crossed out, probably because of the pandemic, so I didn't mind that at all. It's been a while since the service of a staff at the restaurant made me want to write a review. I had actually imagined, during the meal, of returning again.
Somebody's mama was in da kitchen and I wanted to taste all that I saw. Lick every pot, spoon and plate. Galbitang - soup. This soup broth had such depth. It must have been on a long, slow and steady boil getting all of the flavors out of those beef bones. Every spoonful warmed me. I hadn't noticed that I kicked off my shoes and was gently rocking as I savored every slurp. Bossa - pork belly with a whole host of both simple and complex flavors. The Napa cabbage had a gentle spiciness at the end. I've learned to roll up my savory bites. While the combination of fresh garlic, fresh jalapeños and dipping sauce added to the savory spiciness. I'm gonna say that by far the kim chee was the best that I've enjoyed in a long while. It was funky, fresh, taste of spice and finished with a hint of toasted sesame oil. Let your eyes do the ordering. Features: Masks are requested while not eating.
The traditional Korean stews served here are such good comfort foods. I love the blood sausage stew and the combo plate. My wife loved the Dogani Tendon Tang. They also and really good kimchi to go with the stew. I will go back to try the other delicious stews and the steamed pork bosom! Food: 4/5
Good Korean dishes; tasty and hot. My kids recommended us at first, then we tried and love them. Dishes I love are #17 Sliced belly w vegetables wrap, #10, # 17, and #18. Lastly, the service was quick and friendly.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: No
