If you are driving through Oklahoma City on I-44, The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is the natural place to stop and stretch your legs. It is easy off and back on the interstate. If you need lunch, there is a Grille to get a healthy filling lunch at a reasonable cost. The wealth of knowledge and information within the walls is wonderfully displayed. The minimal cost was worth every penny for the four hours we were there--and we did not see everything! I highly recommend stopping and perusing!

One of the best museums in Oklahoma. Dedicated to the West and many of the individuals in both the Wild West and the cinematic West who made it great. Numerous artifacts pieces of Art and things of interest to learn here you will not leave here learning nothing. This is one of my favorite museums in the state of Oklahoma by far.

Very nice and very big museum. Set aside a few hours to see everything. It was a little more focused on western and Native American art than I expected. There was however a lot of gun displays and Cowboy and western actor displays. Don't walk past a doorway without looking in because you may miss a huge room full of displays and artifacts.

Very worthwhile stop. Fun for all ages. Allow plenty of time to go through. Beautiful displays. Interactive and educational and entertaining in the process. How much better does it get than that for vacationing families?

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is simply the best western museum in the world. And there are a lot of really great western museums. From the American Cowboy Gallery, to the Rodeo Gallery, to the Hall of Great Westerners, western art, firearms, American Indian Gallery, and much more. This place has it all. There are several different art exhibitions and sales throughout the year featuring the best contemporary western artists around. Please check their website for current exhibits and upcoming events. There is always something new going on. A friendly helpful staff is the cherry on top. And be sure to walk through their gift shop. The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum is simply the best. It is easy to spend a full day and wish for more time.
