There aren't a lot of convenience stores in the area, so when I saw this one I was eager to check it out. The sign promised food and drink, how bad could it be?

Well, despite the claim on the door that they offered "Special Hoagie-Subs", there was certainly nothing of the type available. There were package goods, and a strangely complete section dedicated to Hispanic spices/food, but definitely nothing fresh made. 

There was the usual assortment of soft drinks available, but on close inspection many were expired by a few weeks at the time of our visit. 

While Nenu's left much to be desired in the food and drink department, they did at least have a few unique offerings. Such as the large pile of firewood for sale outside (complete with sign telling the customer they loaded it at their own risk), or the wide array of smoking pipes (complete with sign telling the customer they were naturally for tobacco use only). 

Given its excellent location and captive audience I had high hopes for this store, but overall I'd have to say Nenu's is a better roadside oddity than a functioning place of business.

my favorite convienence store, fair prices, unique items, and I love the owner, he's really friendly and if your change is nine cents he'll give you a dime and little things like that, he's a great guy

Great store, has a good variety of soft drinks, snacks, lotto tickets, tobacco products, and more.
