Members of this department should carry out their responsibilities with efficiency and effectiveness. Courtesy and pride are the qualities all employees of this organization should strive towards in providing police service to the community.
The primary objective of the Nevada Police Department is to enforce the law in a fair and impartial manner. The sex, race, national origin, color, religion, or economic level of our citizens should not be a factor in the distribution of police services throughout the community. A citizen needing police service will receive the same level and quality of service from this organization regardless of where they reside in the City of Nevada. Police services will be delivered to citizens as promptly as possible taking into consideration the call volume and other factors. Emergency situations will establish priority by which calls are handled. Citizens' requests for help or assistance should not be considered insignificant. Some situations may be beyond the department's control or authority to take action; but a courteous referral or similar action should be applied to the situation.
