Supporting local small businesses has it's privileges.
Yesterday afternoon, I limped into the New Balance store on Cantrall wearing a pair of NB 990 running shoes I had purchased from them a few months ago.  The young man at the counter recognized me as a customer whom he had sold the shoes to only a few months before and offered his assistance.  He looked at the shoes and determined that there was a defect and promptly went to the back and got me a brand new pair of NB 990v3, help me get them and them he waked over to the computer.  I walked over to the counter, already satisfied with the service, card in hand ready to pay and he looked at me and said, "no charge, we'll just switch them out since you've only had them a short time".
That caught me off guard.  That is not what I was expecting at all.  May be a small discount but certainly not a completely free replacement.
All this took about 20 minutes, no hassles and I was grateful.  Now, where do you suppose, I'll be purchasing my next pair of running shoes?  You guessed it, my local New Balance store on Cantrell.

The salesman was very helpful and there was a 75% discount on clothing with the purchase of footwear.

The only place I'll buy shoes. They have certified pediatrists there who go well out of their way to help you get the perfect fit for you. I've bought several pairs of shoes from them and will continue to do so.
