Idk what happened for all these bad reviews but we drove 3 1/2 hours got here early and were greeted with a smile...right away they were helpful and courteous...they were understaffed and apologized for it ...but we didn't mind the wait... They were very nice regardless..patience is a virtue..I'm not sure people realize rules have to be followed regardless so having as much paperwork and identification as you have helps...and maybe arriving early enough will avoid the crowds and issues...it is a small office with very few employees...just a tip 😉

I sent off for a copy of Birth Certificate and it has been 4 months... called 4 times each time the C/S Rep Tasha is rude and act likes she doesn't want to work. Horrible customer service

If I could put 0 stars I would because this department is so dysfunctional that it should face reorganization immediately. I read a review from six years ago that had the same problem that we are still having in 2017. No one answers the phones and if they do they are rude. Citizens are waiting months and years for copies of their birth certificates and the checks have been cashed but no certificate. Is that stealing? Where are the supervisors and what are they doing? The citizens of New Mexico deserve an answer. We also ordered a birth certificate from El Paso, Texas and it was received in 7 days. What's Up New Mexico

Wow! One star is even too good. This person could not even be civil. Sounded like she didn't like her job or people and was tired of answering the phone. Gosh, I know it's Monday but I'm sure her pay is better than mine has ever been, in Education, but I loved my students! Sheesh! STAMP OUT RUDENESS!

No one answered any of the phone numbers provided that I called for information. I was hung up on by both Santa Fe and Albuquerque before I could even speak with a real person! I don't live in Albuquerque or Santa Fe so I guess I will have to drive over an hour to get to one of theses spots and hope I have the correct documentation to obtain the documents I need. Just goes to show how large this unfunctional bureaucracy known as the government works! Or doesn't work but can sure take our money!
