Dreams come true school

Most adults remember that one (or if you were lucky a couple of) teachers they had while going to school that made an impact on their lives and they remember till this day.  I chose to send my child to The New School  because I felt that her entire K-8 school experience would have that impact on her. 

When we moved back to NJ and settled in Monmouth County I began looking for alternative schools in the area. She was only 1 at the time :-).  We raise our child in the to be inquisitive, kind, authentic, creative and self directed,  the moment I stepped into the school to visit I felt that their approach to education reinforces that philosophy. I personally believe that the definition of a "good education" has been skewed towards how well a child does on a test. To me a good education doesn't stop after you graduate from college or HS. A good education means to carry that love of learning and questioning your entire life because the answers on the test are changing at an exponential rate.
