New Dorp is one of the busiest branches on Staten Island. The New Dorp Community Library was established by local residents in 1907, and has been a branch of of The New York Public Library since 1926.

I love libraries, and this one is no exception. It doesn't have a huge selection, but it's very well organized (kids on the left, adults on the right) and plenty of reading area and computers available. The staff are kind and quick to assist, and the community is great too (no massive grumbling about a long line here). I hope this library stays for years to come.

I loveee this library, defiantly the best on the ❤ island. They truly care about the community and their staff. I also think it's pretty cute how mostg of the staff is either named rob or jen 😂 Also you can defiantly tell the staff trully loves their jobs, cuz they always smile and make sure u get what u need. ☺ I think My favorite part about this library is how much the staff cares about the Children. Not only do they have so Many activities daily ,But they also take the time to get to know each and every child by name ❤❤❤ Also I think Martha is the sweetest one of them all ❤

I am a little bit of a library nerd. The events page has a permanent spot in my favorites bar. This is one of my favorite branches in the whole NYPL system. They have a good selection of books. The librarians are friendly and knowledgable. They always, always have events going on for all ages -- from tiny babies to adults.
