I cannot say enough good things about Next Door Provisions, Chef Ruby, and James. We booked a large group dinner here, and they shut down the space for us and curated a custom menu. Every single dish was incredible, and you can tell it was thoughtfully made with love. If you haven’t been, go! You won’t be disappointed.Food: 5/5
A long overdue review on an AMAZING restaurant. Can’t recommend Next Door Provisions enough! My husband and I enjoyed the food and ambiance so much that we came back the following day. Not only is the food delicious and creative, but it was special to get to know the owners - James and Ruby chef - personally! Between both days we tried so many dishes and all of them were fantastic. For mains we had the kare kare mafaldini, spicy chicken ramen, grilled cheese, biscuits & gravy, and tortang talong eggplant omelette. For dessert, we had the carrot cake, ube Basque cheesecake, and both types of cookies blueberry white chocolate and chocolate chip. Hard to pick a favorite and looking forward to rounding out the menu with friends and family later this month. If this restaurant were in downtown JC or NYC you wouldn’t find a table. Just hope we always find a spot!
Came here for brunch for the first time today. I got biscuit and gravy and my husband got Katsu. The food was AMAZING. The atmosphere is cozy and very well decorated with plants friendly staff. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
This place is awesome! I'm Filipino so I'm pretty much programmed to automatically like any Filipino dish you put in front of me, but this place is definitely something special. You can feel the thought and love they put into every dish, and the service is unbeatable. One of the owners shared the history behind some of the dishes, and having that piece of knowledge made everything infinitely more delicious . Can't wait to dine here again!
Brunch at this beautiful restaurant brightened my weekend. First time here and was debating between French toast and bibingka pancake. Decided on French toast and it was so delicious: custardy inside within crispy crust, further elevated by honey sour cream and dark maple syrup. Amazing! Then ordered bibingka pancake to go yes still obsessed as I never tried those before: and it turned out equally amazing in a different way! The rice and coconut flour ? created extra fluffiness and even if I had it next day after microwaving, it tasted as freshly cooked. Also enjoyed my conversations with the owners - very talented people who are passionate about food, art, life and community. Highly recommend and cannot wait to come back!
I’ve been here a couple times - once for a kamayan meal and another for a Maui fundraiser. It’s a really cozy and friendly local spot with delicious Filipino food. I hope to go to more of their special events soon!
As someone with a background in restaurants and a passion for food, I cannot recommend Next Door enough. Succinctly: the food is well worth it, the owners are kind people, and the space is beautiful and warm. Chef Ruby takes familiar foods/staples and augments them with components from her background/experience to craft dishes that make for delicious, fresh in both senses of the word foods. The recipes are not only elevated, but the execution is top notch. Everything is greater than the sum of its parts. I will slowly try everything on the menu : FYI: There is parking as you pull into the side of the building near the doggy area Edit: If I were to revisit an item, it would be between the Pancake and the BLT!!
There is a reason why this restaurant has exclusively 5 star reviews. The food here is absolutely amazing! I came with my wife last weekend for lunch and everything was so yummy that we came back the next day for brunch. There are many restaurants that provide high quality food, but not many that provide an elevated, special experience like Next Door Provisions. All dishes have some "twist" to them, some special ingredient that really makes them taste different and that's what makes this place so great. On top of that, the service and ambience are top notch! James and chef Ruby have created something special and I can't wait to come back and taste everything in the menu. Specifically, over our 2 visits, we had the Spicy chicken ramen, grilled cheese, kare kare mafaldini, biscuits and gravy and eggplant omelette. The mafaldini is an absolute treat and my favorite but I would easily have all of them again. Their carrot cake is a must try as well!
Amazing event!!! Kamayan experience was phenomenal… Food and people excellent food and service and hospitality. From reservation- James and Chef Ruby and Chef Jason with unexpected desserts. Thank you so much for unbelievable experience!
