The Annoor Center provides religious, educational and recreational facilities for Muslims living in the Winston-Salem area. Its membership represents Muslims of diverse ethnicities from all regions of the world.
Services provided by the center include congregational five daily prayers, Ramadan Iftars & Taraweeh, Eid programs, Sunday school, MAS Quran classes, Quranic Studies, Halaqa, Youth programs, Outreach & Interfaith programs and many more activities. A Muslim graveyard is also maintained by the center.
Annoor Islamic Center of Clemmons was established in Feb. 2004. It is an independent, non-profit organization. Membership consists of Muslims from Clemmons and surrounding areas without regard to race, ethnicity, nationality or sect.
Current building of the center was purchased and then renovated into a masjid. It is located on over 4 acres of prime land right next to US 421 with easy access. It has about 4000 square feet of floor space, which includes prayer and multipurpose halls, an office, library and a kitchen/store. There is a picnic shed and a children’s play area. To meet the growing needs of the Muslim community, future plans include the establishment of an Islamic school.
The objective of Annoor Islamic Center is to focus on activities for Muslims living in the area in order for them to organize the religious, educational, and social life of their community in light of the Islamic teachings and traditions. An additional goal is to act as an information resource by providing an understanding of Islam as a faith, as a religion, and as a way of life, and by striving to create an awareness of the Islamic point of view on issues of contemporary relevance.
The center is based on the belief that the only authentic sources of Islam are the Holy Quran and Sunnah (Practices) of the Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him). Islam is the universal message of Allah. Muslims are identified primarily as Muslims and not as ethnic group, race, color or tribe.
