Story

North Florida Pharmacy has been serving Lake City and the surrounding areas since 1993. The founder, owner, and manager, Joel Rosenfeld, has been providing excellent pharmacy care in Lake City since before that, beginning in 1985. Along the way, North Florida Pharmacy has expanded on Joel's vision of excellence in pharmaceuticals. Since opening, North Florida Pharmacy has outgrown its original building, and the North Florida Pharmacy family now consists of eight stores!

North Florida has been a great place for years to pick up prescriptions and unlike a lot of pharmacies, a variety of medical equipment can be picked up with a prescription too. 
Though I was surprised to see I needed a prescription for my client (I'm a CNA who provides Home Care through Granny Nannies) to pick up a spigometer {Device you blow/inhale in to help improve lung function and lessen likely-hood of pneumonia when bed ridden}. My husband has also gotten a couple of walking canes from there. I had to get my husbands prescription and the pharmacist that was supposed to mix it went home. So I had to go back the next day because I had to get pills instead and they only had 4. Not impressed at all.

We originally started using the other location because we lived in Wellborn even though the hours were not as convenient and it was a bit farther. But they had great service. 5 star. Then we moved to lake City a year ago, my husband has tons of medications, several illnesses, as do I. We are on a very limited income. My husband started receiving Humana where he gets his meds free by mail which was a HUGE savings for us! Then it was hard for us to remember to get my meds as my husband has a brain injury and I also have been having cognitive issues and there pharmacy is not open as late as others. So there was a weekend approaching and I asked to switch my meds to a different pharmacy almost closing time so I could pick them up because I was out!  The pharmacist said to my husband, If you wouldn't have transferred your meds I would have stayed till you got here to pick them up. He said we only need them 2 transferred. I actually had to end up transferring the ones back because the other pharmacy didn't take my insurance. Then I came back to North Florida Pharmacy to get my meds they said they refused to have me for a customer any longer and wouldn't tell me why! I went in the store to speak to owner/pharmacist He was mad at first because husband transferred all his meds! I thought everything was ok, after I explained the only reason we changed is because the medications are free, he acted ok, and walked away. Went ahead and filled my meds that day, but they just don't seem very nice anymore. Now, my husband was needing 2 pain meds and ibuprofen filled, they refused to fill it said since he transferred his meds they wouldn't fill anymore! We also were going to buy his CPAP machine there, we bought, ice packs, Etc. There's NO EXCUSE to be treated like this!!!! He owns BOTH STORES, owner who did this is: Joel Rosenfield This has been on seperate occasions, We thought problem was solved!  We will NEVER buy anything ever again in either store, it's too bad because originally we liked both pharmacies. I cannot BELIEVE someone would treat paying customers like this??
