I never do these ratings but felt I needed to in this case. I was very sick and concerned about pneumonia and went in due to a week long illness. When arriving, the facility was not busy.  Maybe one additional person in the ER. I had a physician come in, listen to my heart and said you have the flu and will be sick for 7 to 12 days. That's it. No medication, no examination, no nothing. When I pressed her about some meds to resolve the problem she told me to go buy Robitussin over the counter.  Not sure I would call this a caring evaluation. The pharmacist at Walgreens would have been more attentive. When I received the bill for over $1000 for this 3 minutes of quality health care, I almost fell off the chair. I wouldn't take my sick dog to them. Very little compassion or concern.

My husband and I were tremendously pleased with the care our 9 month old son received at North Strand ER while we were vacationing over Thanksgiving. The doctors and nurses were tremendously kind and helpful. We received a follow-up call the next day to see how our son was doing. Would highly recommend.

If you are considering coming to this facility for treatment for emergency mental health care (anxiety attacks, panic  attacks, suicidal thoughts, etc.), DON'T! 

The only reason that I could consider giving even one star is due to the compassion shown by the nurse that got me into triage who was even clearly upset by the behavior of the physician that was supposed to help me. 

Instead of compassion and patience, I received the kind of treatment that makes it so difficult to seek medical attention for mental illness. Bedside manner was nonexistent and any sort of compassion out of the question. Furthermore, as a doctor, he should know that if someone is suffering from an axiety attack that impatience and asking questions as if it were an interrigation is going to do nothing but make the patient suffer more. 

I refused treatment and left. 

Because of the way I was treated I nearly gave up on trying to get help again at a different facility. Thankfully, because I had a family member holding me accountable, I did receive the treatment I needed, but only having had the problem I went to get help for was made much worse. 

Luckily enough for me I ended up getting help. What needs to be considered is that if I were someone with no support system, suicidal thoughts and was unable to maintain their focus due to their illness..... If they were treated the way I was, they may just go through with their suicide. This doctor is a risk to those with mental health problems and those that love them. 

Please don't come here for anxiety attacks/manic episodes/mental health problems. It isn't worth the risk. Grand strand and Seacoast are much better options.

I like to compliment the staff who treated me on 10.4.2017.they are the Best,I remember only by name Meredith and Dr Wheeler.
The technion,who did the Cat scan,the nurse who did all the labs and started my IV,the secretary who did all 
Information regarding my insurance all are great.
They are quick and efficient.
😊 I am feeling so much better,even went swimming.
