My family and I switched to this dentistry a few years ago and have been getting our teeth cleaned here regularly.  On my initial visit, I felt like the hygienist's cleaning was incredibly aggressive.  I was constantly having to rinse and when she was finished, I had blood everywhere including my face. I'm almost 40 and this had never happened in previous dentist offices.  However, the staff seemed nice enough and I liked the dentist so I continued.  My experience never improved, so I eventually and apologetically requested a different hygienist. They assured me the request wasn't uncommon, so I saw a new one on my next visit.  Although the cleaning still seemed rougher than the norm, I felt like it was an improvement.  
I went in today for a routine cleaning and it all started well (aside from barely getting a glance from the front desk upon arriving).  Once the hygienist started the cleaning, I noticed the brutality when she was using the scaler.  I flinched and cringed several times, but she never eased up.  After she was almost through with my bottom teeth, I sat up and asked if she was finished and she said with a rude attitude "I can be..."
There was zero compassion...although I was obviously upset and hurt.  I HATE confrontation which is the reason I've kept my mouth shut and continued seeing this dentistry.  My gums are still in absolute pain and I feel as though I've been through a torture chamber.  I will never be back to this establishment.  I've been to many dentists in the past, have had several root canals...even while pregnant with little anesthesia so it's not a case of my having little pain tolerance.  I don't like leaving negative reviews and I'm sure there are many satisfied patients, so please if you've heard good things, give them a try and make your own judgement. I will be looking for a new dentist ASAP!

Speaking from the standpoint of having always been a  very nervous dental patient I was pleasantly surprised with Northgate Family Dentistry!  Dr. Sims was absolutely by far the best dentist I have ever been to.  He made the experience great.  Dr. Sims was a very caring  dentist who realized I was nervous  and he and his staff worked very hard for my dental visit to be a positive one. It was!  I had an ongoing issue with a tooth that had been causing a lot of pain.  Dr. Sims worked very diligently and with ease to relieve my pain.  Northgate Family Dentistry was great!  Kudos to Dr. Sims and the staff. I appreciate the care, professionalism,  and smiles!

I can not stress enough the wonderful care I receive from Dr Sims and his staff! They are professional as well as making you feel comfortable. The office is run in a well organized manner.  Dr Sims spends time with me and explains exactly what he is doing during the procedure/exam.    
If you are looking for a dentist who is excellent in his profession and who really cares about you I recommend Dr Sims.

I was a patient of Dr Kisling & was concerned when I found out he had retired.  But Dr Sims & Dr Belva are great!  As are the entire staff.  Very caring, go out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

This is such a wonderful practice and both Dr. Sims and Dr. Belva are incredibly knowledgeable, gentle and kind. I would highly recommend!
