Saturday:
A major disappointment. My friends and I were going to have a fun bowling outing on a Saturday afternoon around 4:00 pm in mid-July. Before going to Northgate Lanes, we saw that the alley was open during daytime hours on Fridays and Saturdays according to Google. However, we forgot to call them beforehand to double-check that they were open. When we arrived at the bowling alley, the display sign outside the place advertised that it was open on Fridays and Saturdays. However, the whole place was closed down, all the doors were locked, and the parking lot was empty. We tried calling them, but it went into voicemail. We even thought that it was out of business. For this place to survive in the long-run, it really needs to improve its dissemination of information. To be honest, it is quite embarrassing to false-advertise business hours, so I wish I could give 0 stars here.

-UPDATE (Monday):
I just checked the business hours on the Northgate website, and I just learned that they open at 5:00 pm on Saturdays. Even though I should have doubled checked that, it would have been a lot more convenient to add the updated hours to the display board outside the place, and keep the Google hours up-to-date since not everyone will go to the website for information. It would also be nice to have someone available to talk to during daytime hours in case other people encounter the same scenario I had last Saturday. I also recommend leaving an automated voice message giving the hours of operation throughout the year. I am not a Galesburg local, so I believe it's important to keep information consistent among all platforms of communication in order to attract new customers.

Great bowling alley! The staff is very friendly and they have many lanes of bowling. They also have a bar for the adults.

Decent bowling ally, needs some updates but in good shape considering how bowling has become less popular.

This place has that tired old look that fails the sport, but probably works fine for the locals. Typical house shot pattern center if your more advanced in the game. The staff was very polite and friendly!

A good ball is hard to find. It we had a good time and my daughters got to experience bowling for the first time.
